About Villa Vallunga

The typical Marchigiano farmhouse dates back to 1808, with the stable downstairs and the farm family at the first floor. In 1955 the house was converted into the villa it now is, further modifications and improvements have been made over the years. Today, it is a stylish holiday villa that combines luxury with an authentic atmosphere.

On the outside, the character of the old farmhouse has been preserved. The house has a comfortable outdoor area and a perfect 12 x 6.5-metre swimming pool. The shaded porch and veranda for dining and lounging make the most of the ravishing views of garden, pool, fields and mountains, while the sun loungers by the pool give another angle of the landscape. In the garden, all kinds of birds can be seen (and heard), while a flock of sheep passes by almost daily.

Inside, it is functional and tastefully decorated with a mix of rustic and modern. The house has original features, with wooden beams exposed throughout. The sitting room offers space for lounging and the double end fireplace is a great place to cosy up with a fire out season. The four double bedrooms are spacious and bright with comfortable beds and the bathrooms are complete and functional. Villa Vallunga is ideal for a holiday where you feel closely connected to nature and culture alike. It is as cosy in the cooler months as it is welcoming in the warmer ones, making it ideal for longer 'workations', too.

Villa Vallunga is perfectly positioned in the green hills, close to the ancient towns of Gualdo di Macerata and Sarnano and only 20 car-minutes from the Monti Sibillini. The house can be reached from a provincial road via a little-used but well-maintained 1 km strada bianca (a pebble-paved road). Once you arrive at the house, you can enjoy a beautiful and peaceful setting - often with views of sunflowers or wheat, meadows with sheep and beautiful vistas.

Nearby, more than 50 (fortified) towns and villages on the hilltops of Le Marche can be reached within an hour. The 12th-century town of Sarnano, one of the più belli borghi d'Italia, is just 10 minutes away. The provincial center Macerata, episcopal city with one of Europe's oldest universities, is a larger hilltop town at 45 minutes. Within Le Marche, the towns of Fermo, Loreto, Urbino and Ascoli Piceno are also well worth a visit. Umbria's beautiful towns, such as Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Foligno and Spello, can be reached within 60-90 minutes. These towns and villages are sure to entice you with their abundance of history, culture, 'cucina', and unalloyed prettiness. There is, of course, also a wide choice of Adriatic resorts and beaches.
